I was thinking about the bucket seat installation for some time. Even though the Twingo drives on track very well, it's not the best option to build a race car. There are not so many options for tuner parts, maybe except for a suspension. I found only one railing for the bucket seat on the market -- that was an English website, and the cost was quite high, considering delivery and taxes, even senseless.
So I decided to make my own adapter plate. The plan is pretty easy -- take 5mm construction steel, bend it from both sides to create stiffeners, and put the seat with brackets on top of it. I've ordered a plate, which cost me around 300 zł (or around €70).
Another question is about harnesses. I needed 4 points for them. Two rear ones, I could use the factory rear top point, but in this case, both belts are shifted right. Alternatively, I could reuse mounts of the back seat, but the vertical angle would be too high: FIA recommends an angle not more than 45 degrees, otherwise the pilot's spine can receive a lot of compression coming from a vertical component of the force. The bottom right, I could use the factory one. The bottom left one, no chances, needs to be welded.
I contacted Ernest from 52 Racing Team, and he agreed to help me with the installation. Check out the guy's YT channel, they are racing their E36 compact, it's interesting: 52 Racing Team
After a discussion, we decided to weld the two bottom points and make a harness bar from scratch (nothing on the market again). He did an amazing job. Everything is installed professionally and nicely. Now I have a lot of room for my head and my legs, even do a hilltoe now :) It's just left to paint all this, but it's on me this time. Just had to cut one of the plate's edges, because the seat should be installed a bit further to the rear end. Also, spacers from the left side are required, because factory points do not make a flat surface. Everything is mounted on 10.9 bolts.
